The small kitchen

There is a recent New York Times blog about Bittman, the Times' food writer, and his small kitchen. I agree with everything that he says; food prepared in a small kitchen will taste just fine, but the hassle-factor is quite high.

So you are going to get rid of all your cookbooks?

That was the most shocking statement of the entry. I can't remember half of the contents of my cookbooks. Although, if I could make a living by writing a 1000-word column ONCE A WEEK, I could cook all day, every day, and I suppose the cookbooks wouldn't seem so necessary.

Dear Wade, god of food,
Could you please do a post for me as a special favor? I am currently suffering from small, limited kitchen situation and just had gastric bypass surgery. I am on stage 3 diet which means basically I can eat super moist chicken or fish in 2 to 3 oz. Typically, there has to be some sort of sauce on it for me to keep it down. Oh and it can't contain any sugar. Any ideas that would be quick and easy besides chicken salad? I do have a food processor, but that is about it.
Faithful reader,
Kelly

Small kitchen seems a difficult design challenge, but they may even be stunning, highly effective features. Even with tiny budgets and building restrictions, you can find more choices, you can transform your kitchen, something more suited to your needs.
